When allergy symptoms become too much to handle on a daily basis, try to following allergy treatments and prevention methods to find relief: • Clear your nose with a saltwater nose rinse. • Try OTC allergy medication, specifically oral antihistamines like cetirizine and loratadine. • Use prescription eye drops or nasal sprays to reduce any swelling in the nose. • Apply eyedrops often to soothe watery, itchy eyes that accompany allergic conjunctivitis. • Use decongestants to get relief from nasal congestion. But avoid using them for more than three days. • Shut the windows in your home and switch on the AC. • Try allergy shots if things take a turn for the worse.
