A healthy diet for PCOS patients should include foods like: • High-fiber foods • Natural, unprocessed foods • Cauliflower and broccoli • Nuts, like almonds, pine nuts, and pistachios • Dried beans and lentils • Spinach, kale, and other dark leafy greens • Dark chocolate • Cinnamon, turmeric, and other spices • Dark red fruits, like blueberries, cherries, blackberries, and red grapes • Fatty fish, including sardines, tuna, mackerel, and salmon • Good fats, like avocados, coconuts, and olive oil Patients can lose more weight if they follow a diet consisting more of mono-unsaturated fats than saturated fats. That’s why patients are normally prescribed plant-based fats, like olive oil and other vegetable oils.
