Most ovarian cysts do not cause any symptoms and they tend to go away on their own. But if the ovarian cyst grows to a large size it can cause bloating, heaviness or fullness in the abdomen, and pelvic pain, including a sharp or dull ache in the lower abdomen on the side of the cyst. You should schedule an appointment with your doctor immediately if you have pain accompanied by vomiting and fever and severe, sudden pelvic or abdominal pain.
