Women should consider ovarian cyst removal surgery if they have a cyst that is very large or present in both ovaries. Also, keep an eye out for characteristics that might indicate ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is capable of affecting women of all ages, but the possibility tends to increase right after a woman has gone through menopause. Ovarian cyst surgery is cystectomy that preserves the woman’s ovary and fertility, and oophorectomy that removes the ovaries completely to prevent the growth of new cysts.
