How is an obese man different from an obese woman?

Body fat tends to accumulate differently in males and females. These differences lead to varied health consequences since men and women react separately to a diet rich in fats. Women are normally leaner when they are young girls but they start gaining weight during pregnancy or post menopause due to estrogen. This causes them to wonder how they can lose the excess weight and avoid being categoized as obese. The ovaries of premenopausal women produce estradiol, which is a kind of estrogen. This estrogen plays a role in the protective role of ovaries. Ovarian hormones protect against weight gain and obesity. However, obese women exhibit no changes in reproductive hormones or neuroinflammation, indicating they are protected by factors other than ovarian estrogen. Obese women, however, are prone to developing metabolic syndrome, which is a constellation of pathologies including insulin insensitivity and type 2 diabetes. Overweight women also have trouble with their menstrual cycles since they cannot ovulate properly and their BMI during pregnancy. Obese men, on the other hand, reduce less testosterone, resulting in low energy, low libido, and lower muscle strength.
