HIV symptoms usually vary from one person to the other. But the first signs normally appear within the initial one to two months. Most people experience extreme flu-like symptoms which is the body’s natural response to the HIV virus. The fever is among the first symptoms to manifest among infected individuals and is sometimes accompanied by other mild symptoms, like swollen lymph glands, fatigue, headache, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, and a sore throat. The virus then gradually begins to move towards the blood stream and begins to replicate in large numbers. When that happens, the immune system produces an inflammatory reaction.
