About Eczema

The term eczema refers to a group of disorders that make the skin appear inflamed, itchy, and red. Different types of eczema have been recorded, including contact dermatitis, nummular eczema, atopic dermatitis, stasis dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, and dyshidrotic eczema. This skin condition is quite common, affecting nearly 35 million individuals. Living with eczema can be challenging. Varying from mild to moderate to severe, this condition makes the skin flare-up. On the positive side, it can be managed by visiting a good dermatologist and sticking to the recommended course of treatment. Eczema normally affects children and babies on the face, especially the chin and cheeks. However, it can show up almost anywhere on the body and the symptoms vary considerably from one kid to another. In most cases, eczema dissipates as soon as the child becomes older, although some children suffer from the disorder well into adulthood. Adults may develop eczema as well, even if they had no skin problems at a younger age.
