Once the ovarian cyst gets removed, patients tend to feel a pain in their tummy but the situation improves in a couple of days. After laparoscopic surgery, patients must take things easier for two weeks. But the recovery time after laparotomy normally takes a lot longer, normally around six to eight weeks. If the cyst is submitted for testing, the results generally take a few weeks to come back and you should consult your Gynecologist if you experience symptoms like heavy bleeding, high temperature, smelly or dark vaginal discharge, or severe swelling and pain in the abdomen.
