Scarcity of fiber-rich foods – fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc. – in a child’s diet is a common cause of constipation. Deficiency of enough fluids also can contribute. Hot weather, stress or traveling can leave a toddler constipated too. Some children get constipated when they join a crèche or school. Too much of dairy like cheese or cow milk is another probable cause. To rule out any medical and pathological cause, please visit your doctor.
