Anxiety causes both psychological and physical symptoms. Some of the common physical symptoms include: • Muscle Tension: Anxiety tenses the muscles of the neck and back, and manifests as unrelenting pains and aches in overly active neck, jaw, shoulder, and back muscles. Even when the threat is absent, the muscle tension doesn’t subside. • Dizziness and Headaches: Anxiety patients may experience an aching head due to chronic worry. When accompanied by temperature changes and increased heart rate, dizziness occurs. • Digestive Issues: Anxiety unsettles the stomach, leading to diarrhea, constipation, and outright nausea. • Edginess: Behavioral changes are witnessed in anxiety patients in the form of physical shaking or trembling and irritability.
