This kind of acne is known as "premenstrual acne". It usually occurs due to the hormones that are active before your period and some women are more sensitive to these hormones than others, causing them to break out. This is a fairly common condition and a number of women who are prone to acne often suffer from premenstrual acne. It usually occurs about a week to 10 days before the onset of a woman's period and then subsides as soon as bleeding starts. Consult a dermatologist and he/she will guide you on the best treatment for your condition.
I have noticed I usually get pimples about a week beore my period starts almost every month. My friends do not have this problem. Why do i get acne before my period? Is there anything to worry?
